@pimoore I actually like when Siri is fed up and paradoxically tells me “I won’t respond to that.“

I have empathy for these perspectives. It can be surprising to notice what the software is affording us rather than just using it. To be missing a verb one imagined standard feels weird. Take love, or its junior high school buddy like, and consider the alternate affordance on micro.blog. It is one which doesn't consider every idle appreciation from every user of such significance that it is worth manipulating everyones share flow in reaction.

The alt affordance in micro.blog is Bookmarking something. I consider this worthy of attention, you've said. But it requires nothing else of you. And if I happen to be interested in what you think about things like that, I can follow your bookmarkery.

@MitchW Gads! 😲 That’s enough for 24hrs I think! (not discouraging you, tho! 😀)

@erchanda And why wouldn’t they, considering what they're about?

I continue to fight for recognition of Frisbeeanism, y’know, when you die your soul goes on the roof and you can’t get it down, but there’s a lot of head wind there, too... ❤︎ ❥

@danlyke thanks for keeping this convo alive. We are getting down to important fundamentals here and you obviously have given this more than a little thought.

Expect more here later, and thanks for so far!

@BenSouthwood re News, it is a pretty deep offering on publications I guess, although some key ones req supplemental subscription. But sharing is awful. It’s a hermetically sealed version of the search-site.action URL thing—anyway the reading experience is not always bad. re Music, again, like so many of their services, it can be maddeningly half-baked. But sometimes, sometimes, the recommendation engine gets me right in the feels.

But the whole iCloud+/OS’s & InformationAgeLifestyle thing, with all its rather elegant fast integrated reliable simplicity, which has simply accrued over the decades, well, it is well worth it.

Important Note: spontaneity, continuity, partitioning, and live archive are the driving forces of my cyber desires, at least lately. And I have a long term investment in their hard-and software...because I’ve used plenty of other stuff over the years. 😉
