All we may have left to offer our children, by way of an explanation as to how things came to be the way they are, is that we conquered, and now run, the entire world with language games—and this has proven so successful a strategy that we recently became able to build machines that play these language games at least as good as an average one of us can.
But we are so entranced by the world of language in our heads that it seems, however tenuously, enough to hold back our taking any action to treat the dissatisfaction we so frequently express for the world are bodies are in, or our bodies themselves. Which has the effect, among others, that almost everything we use to appropriately distribute status in our society is currently being re-worked, as it were, again.
