@pratik, et al. Just to make that bit about fake news concrete so I don’t sound like a complete loon: News historically is not evaluated on its truth value as much as we would think, but much more on the trust line to the sender and the utility value of the information. Fake news is also news because we think (someone thinks) it is important that we know some other folks are lying all the time, or at least think they are. It’s awful.
