I've had not just one long gap (as @SimonWoods mentions) in journalling but hundreds. I have runs of longer posts, photos or music, silence for months, switch blog platform (repeat every couple of years), fresh start posts, a flurry of short interactions, more silence, etc. I try not to let it bother me anymore. I do it like I do it.

But I should say that intention is a significant driver for me as well. Jokes and jabs and knowing winks only sustains for a time, but if I have a creative “accomplishment” in mind, well then I make more, which increases the odds some of it might be passable. ❤︎
